Personal Training

You can benefit from the dedicated expert attention of Dave McQueen or Paulette Grant during a one to one session at East London Gym in Beckton or at home. Day and evening sessions can be organised to accommodate individuals or couples wishing to train together.

Whether you are recovering from an injury or other health concern, want to shed excess weight once and for all, or want to take your fitness to a higher level but don’t know how, Dave and Paulette can develop and manage a programme that is tailored to your ability, needs and goals, at a pace that suits you.

The only thing you need to bring along is a positive ‘can do’ attitude. Dave and Paulette will bring the professional know-how, motivational and technical instruction and necessary support to help you achieve your goals. They will also keep records of your progress and advise on what lifestyle and dietary modifications to make outside the gym to help you make the maximum difference to your health and fitness.

Dave McQueenDave McQueen RIP FItness Personal Trainer

RIP Fitness’ success is down to the drive, professionalism and infectious enthusiasm that Dave McQueen brings as the organisation’s founder.

As a well-known personality and dedicated fitness professional not only in and around Newham but also across the UK and overseas, Dave combines unrivalled personal trainer credentials with endless passion and expert knowledge in health and fitness.

Holding a Sports Science Degree and specialising in sports injuries, Dave is an accomplished sportsman, having trained for many years as a professional 200m runner, and is also a martial arts expert. His repertoire of fitness and sports training is vast and includes condition and circuit training, kickboxing, badminton, socca, dance and aerobics.

He has taught classes and provided successful personal training services to the boroughs of Waltham Forest and Newham for the last 15 years. He is also a regular presenter at a number of local clubs where his circuits and classes are always full to capacity and over-subscribed.

Clients benefit hugely from Dave’s knowledge of the human body and healthy eating. During personal training sessions, he advises clients on how to make holistic lifestyle changes to maximise their training programme and generate the most effective and sustained results.

Dave has strong community links as he regularly contributes to local schools’ sports programmes, such as Gallions Primary School and Play Hut. While able to offer a wide variety of activities such as table tennis, kickboxing and street dance, Dave can also tailor programmes specific to the age of the children and curriculum requirements of the school.


Paulette GrantPaultette Grant - RIP Fitness Personal Trainer

Working with Dave is Paulette Grant, a fun loving and youthful mother of two grown-up children. Originally working as a qualified primary school teacher for many years, Paulette took a new career direction in her forties, turning her love of fun and fitness into a professional vocation. This gave her a new flexible lifestyle, greater physical well-being and a sure fire way of eliminating stress.

Now a qualified Personal Trainer, Paulette provides bespoke free weights and circuit training as well as personalised weight management advice to clients of all ages and fitness levels.

As a role model for all multi-tasking women, Paulette uses her life experiences to encourage women, of all ages and cultures, to invest in their long-term health and well-being by incorporating health, fitness and fun into their lifestyles.


Heather Thomas

RIP Fitness Personal Trainer Heather ThomasHeather is well known for her fun-loving personality and well rounded character. She holds numerous Fitness and Sport qualifications, which include a Sports Science Degree specialising in Health and Fitness.

Heather currently works as a Senior PE Teacher in a multi-cultural Newham School, providing high quality PE lessons for the students and fitness and weight-management classes and advice for the staff. Known for her enthusiastic and energetic workouts, Heather creates fitness profiles to suit all individual needs.

An established Presenter, training and working in the Fitness Industry for over 20 years, Heather has run fitness classes in the Leisure Centres in Newham and Waltham Forest since the early 90’s. She has also presented on a number of Fitness Weekenders for RIP Fitness.

As an experienced Personal Trainer, Fitness Centre Manager and Weight Management Consultant, Heather has a wealth of knowledge and expertise, which she combines with her strong positive attitude and her passion for health and fitness, to inspire and motivate her clients into making significant changes to their lifestyles, in order to achieve their own personal goals.


Gus Ayinbode

I have been in the fitness industry since 1989. I used to work out my daily frustrations in the gym, and as I became fitter, I found that people treated me with more respect. I also found I was good at motivating people, and made it my mission to help others achieve the fitness levels they deserve.
